Why did you join ASU DEVO?

“I joined ASU Devo to better myself as a cyclist. I plan on improving how I do things in and out of races. I would like to become a focused and concentrated athlete and impress other bikers. I want to take this opportunity and make good out of it. Not only do I want to improve in mountain biking, but I would like to improve in cyclocross as well.”

Max BAiley

Age 14, USAC 433204

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

“I love to bike and play around with friends/teammates. I can make
friendships very easily and I'm not afraid to talk to people I don't know
well. Biking has always been a fun sport for me, and I would like to
increase my knowledge and physical fitness on mountain biking. Biking on the
trails is probably one of the most fun things for me, but I will do fine
with riding on the road too. In general, I am a person that can laugh at
anything and I enjoy to be outside doing the sport I love. During the off
season I race alpine skiing, which includes the disciplines of slalom and
giant slalom.”

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

“I’m passionate about biking and I want to improve my skills and endurance. My first experience with mountain biking was in 2017 with the HAWC MTB team, and in 2018 I finished as the Division 1 JV2 state champion. I also competed in several cyclocross events last year, but I really look forward to racing the WORS series this year. My other interests include rock climbing, metalworking, 3-D modeling, and piano.”

Nick SDRENKA

Age 21, USAC 481843

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

“I started riding and racing at the age of 5. Riding with my dad on the mountain bike trails with a huge smile on my face, and winning out over the other kids in races. At age 10 I rode in Sedona with my dad and he asked, “Why are you smiling so much?” All I could get out was, “This is such a cool place!” From that point, I knew I was going to take this as far as I could. I met Matt & joined ASU DEVO and didn’t waste any time training hard in my first season. In the WORS series, I went from racing Cat. 3 to Cat. 2 and then to Cat. 1 where I raced junior/elite taking 2nd behind some of the fastest and strongest riders.

2016-2017 were two seasons that I was absolutely filled with ambition for racing because of some great coaching, camaraderie, and friendship that I found on the team. I credit the time I spent training & racing with ASU DEVO to me getting into Lees-McRae College on a D1 collegiate cycling scholarship and my first Mountain Bike Nationals podium.”

2018 Highlights:

  • 5th place - 2018 USA Cycling Mountain Bike Nationals

Corbin hodgemen

Corbin has been a part of the ASU DEVO team for two racing seasons and is looking forward to his third season this upcoming spring. Corbin has been competing in the Wisconsin Off Road Series for over 5 years, and a variety of other races within the midwest. He credits his father for introducing him to the exciting world of cycling, and all the relationships and memories along the way. Beyond the camaraderie that ASU delivers, the overall support provided by the team has allowed Corbin to tackle greater challenges within and outside the race course.

Age 12

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

Biking is one of my favorite sports.  This will be my second year biking WORS. My favorite kind of biking is single track. What I like about race weekend other than racing is hanging out with friends, hanging hammocks, and pre-riding. Other than biking, I like to fish and hunt. During the winter I like to downhill ski and ice fish.

Dylan Hagen

Age 14

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

Biking is my favorite sport. This is my third year racing NICA and second year racing WORS. I like to make friends and hang out with my team.  My favorite kind of riding is technical single track. What I like about racing is the day and night before the race. I like to watch my other teammates race and cheer them on in the hammocks. I enjoy pre-riding the trails with my team. When I'm not racing, my other sports are hunting anything, fishing, and downhill skiing.

Why did you join ASU DEVO?

I love anything biking related and enjoy spending race weekend with my friends.  This is my second year of racing WORS and it will be my third year in NICA.  I really like techy single track but I also like flow sections.  I love to hang hammocks with my friends and chill out on Saturday after the pre ride.  I like exploring the woods around the race course with friends.  Race day is always full of energy and fun; I love running around cheering on my friends and family.  My hobbies and off season sports are snowboarding, fishing, hunting, and trap shooting.
